Thursday's Observations

Ok sorry for not posting about actual weather yesterday. I got busy last night. But here is today's observations... Temperature 47.8 deg F, Dew Point 43 deg F, a 3mph from the southeast. Today has been completely covered and has been very foggy all day. Barometer reads at 994.2mb. This satellite image of the water vapor show that the first patch of clouds has past and we are currently in a second thinner batch that covers MN, WI, and IA. the thrid front of clouds can be seen coming in most of the way over North Dakota.

I forecast that tomorrow will cooler with more clouded skies.

Farrgo Sandbagging Has Begun!

Sandbagging for the Fargo-Moorhead area has begun as of Monday Feb 14th. My boyfriend was out  sandbagging today. Students are taking time during their school days to go create sandbags in preperation for this spring's Red River flood. City of Fargo sandbagging volunteers begins The current river levels are actually currently down from last week's warm up. But that means nothing for the coming waters.
This is the past month and a half river level.

Tuesday's Observations

Today started out a little chilly and warmed up over throughout the day. The temperature is 39.6 deg F the dew point is 30.6 deg F. The calm wind from the Southwest at 5 mph. The barometer reads 1011.3 mb. The sky is mostly cloudy with altostratus clouds. The jet stream has changed dramatically from last weeks trough shape. Today's jet stream:
appears more ridged now. This means that it is bringing in warm air from the southern zones.

Monday's Observations

Today's weather felt alot like spring. But I know not to get too comfortable since it is only mid February. The temperature is 37.2 deg F with a dew point of 28.4 deg F. There is a calm wind from the southwest. The barometer is at 1023.5mb. The sky was about 80% filled with altocumulus clouds. The radar shows that there is no current precipitation however there may be some on its way for tomorrow.

Sunday's Observations

Hey sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I went home last minute to surprise my family with a visit and I didn't bring my laptop. Wow I missed alot though. It definitely warmed up in Eau Claire over the weekend. The snow is melting and the roads are full of puddles.So here is today's update. According to Weather Underground it is 42.6 deg F outside with a dew point at 29 deg F.The barometer reads 995.5mb today. There is a calm wind at 5mph from the Northwest. There is about a 70% cloud covering of altocumulus clouds. The radar shows
that there is some precipitation in the air northwest of Eau Claire as well as some in the LaCrosse area however none is currently present in Eau Claire. I forcast that temperatures will drop over night but return to the high 30s tomorrow.
