Tuesday Observations

As I predicted last night the snow fall had ceased by morning. Today's skys are filled will stratus cloud cover with a few altocumulus clouds. Overall the clouds covered 100% of the sky. A bitter North wind is blowing at approximately 15mph. Although the majority of the midlatitude cyclone has missed teh Eau Calire area in terms of snow fall the system will be drawing in some bitter cold weather from the trough of High pressure from Canada throughout the next few days. The temperature is currently -7.4 degrees C according to the weather station on top of Phillips Hall which converts to approximately 18.38 degrees F. The radar from the National Weather Service (NWS) shows that the system is to the south of Eau Claire bringing in winds from the north behind the system that is moving eastward. NWS radar I predict that tomorrow will be cloud covered and continue to drop in temperature.
